Diabetes Stinks.com - A sweet little website created by a brave, young girl with diabetes. "Hi, my name is Bailey. I just turned 8 years old and I have had type 1 diabetes for three years now. I was diagnosed with the disease on December 12, 2003. I am in the third grade and I am homeschooled. Homeschooling rocks! ... Who knows, maybe I will be the one to finally find the cure for this stinking disease!" I couldn't have said it any better, Bailey. Kids Learn About Diabetes - An amazing website put together for an Eagle Scout Project by Brendan Hannemann of Troop 1140, Springfield, Virginia, USA. Annie's Unite for Sight Website for Kids Myriam is five, lives in Quebec, and uses an insulin pump. Janine's Diabetes and Insulin Pump Web page presents one woman's experiences with pumping insulin. KidsRPumping - Stories of KIDS who use INSULIN PUMPS Diabetes Mine - Blogger Amy Tenderick developed a remarkable site considering she counts herself a "newbie" to being diagnosed. Her site is helpful and up-to-date. Amy recently began CGMS with the DexCom and shares her experiences openly. She describers herself as, "Inquisitive, perhaps-just-a-tad overly analytical new diabetic based in San Francisco, CA." Read about the youngest insulin-pump user in the world. SueDiabetes - A devoted husband in the UK created this wonderful, fun and informative blog when his wife was diagnosed with diabetes. Living with Diabetes - The blogger is now using the DexCom CGMS Seven and shares her experiences right down to drowning her last sensor in the shower. "Living with Diabetes is a blog about ... well .. living with diabetes. I was diagnosed at age 42..." Mother's blog - Bittersweet blog that discuss the letting go of her diabetic son as he turns 18. Livabetes, The Glucose Goddess - An extremely sassy website from Laura Menninger, a diabetic with a wit sharper than any lancet! Scott's Diabetes Journal - Scott writes, "This is a place where I can post random thoughts, feelings and experiences related to my struggle with diabetes." Well, he surely does. Colorful and down-to-earth, Scott begins blogs with thoughts (we all share) like "Basal rate changes are a pain in the butt..." The Diabetes Blog - A great, tongue-in-cheek blog that reports on current happenings in the diabetes world. The author is not afraid to point out flaws and ask questions as consumers in the diabetes market need to be asked. Worth a trip to the blog to find entertaining, thought-provoking quips on important diabetes topics. Diabetologica - A great blog to drop in on if you are interested in research and things diabetic-scientific. The blogs author remains true to his own words ... "I'm concentrating on reporting and commenting on new treatments and research for diabetes." Curing Diabetes - One mile at a time "Curing Diabetes - One mile at a time - We are two dudes who want to get financial support to donate to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation to cure Type 1 diabetes - we ride our bike - you donate. Tell us how you manage your Type 1." This is a simple blog with a noble purpose. Brittany kept a diary of her experiences when she first got the pump (at age 12) and is shares it with us. Kids R Pumping, written by Ellen Ullman, provides a place for kids who use an insulin pump, and their parents, to share information. The Pump Girls is a rock band consisting of girls aged 12-15.
