AACE is an international organization representing physicians devoted to enhancing the field of clinical endocrinology.

Materials: AACE publishes a peer-reviewed scientific journal, Endocrine Practice. The organization also publishes The First Messenger newsletter and other timely publications, such as practice guidelines, to keep members abreast of scientific developments and news.

Mission: AADE is a multi-disciplinary organization of more than 10,000 health rofessionals dedicated to advocating quality diabetes education and care.

Materials: AADE publishes The Diabetes Educator, a bimonthly journal for multidisciplinary members of the diabetes health care team. The journal publishes the latest diabetes education research and provides valuable teaching tools and techniques. AADE also produces the most comprehensive diabetes education resource, A Core Curriculum for Diabetes Education, now in its third edition. Mission:  Insulin Pumpers was formed in September 1997 by Michael Robinton as a voluntary organization providing a support forum on the internet for pump users. His daughter had recently started using a pump. It is now handled by a team of 50 volunteer writers, web developers, mail administrators, chat organizers and medical advisory board members.

Materials:  They do not provide printed material, however, the offer extensive online resources about insulin pumping and diabetes, and feature a medical board and forums rto ask questions.

Mission:  IOH is a volunteer-driven, diabetes consumer advocacy group that offers comprehensive diabetes information and support, free legal advice, and exhaustive legal and insurance information.  IOH was founded to fund nonprofit diabetes assistance organizations.  IOH assists in resolution of product fraud and discrimination at school and in the work place.
