		main Events page A fabulous time was had by all at the Walk To Cure Diabetes Fundraiser hosted by the wonderful Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Walks like the one (below) in Ontario, CA take place all over the country. JDRF Walk for the Cure, Guasti Park, Ontario, CA - 09/10/05

Even grownups enjoy getting their face painted.

Lizzie (notice her pump pouch peaking out
from under her poncho) and her siblings enjoyed walking (and posing) for a cure.

Mimes came and "mimed" for a cure!

The San Bernadino Sheriff's Dept. Academy Class #161 came out and ran for the cure. Every mile they stopped running and did pushups for the cure. Thank you SB #161!

JDRF knows how to plan an event -- there were plenty of sugar-free treats including snow cones.

Many groups dressed in team colors. Some even had pictures of their children imprinted on their shirt. It was truly an inspiring day.

JDRF teamed up with the Red Cross. People were able to donate clothing, household goods, and much needed diabetes supplies to victims of hurricane Katrina.

Hundreds of people showed up to walk for the cure. It was both heartwarming and gutwrenching to meet so many other children with diabetes. We really need a cure...
