About the Program The following information is based on company materials that describe the nature, focus, and purpose of the NutriSystem Nourish program: "The NutriSystem Nourish meal plans provide approximately 55% of the calories from good, low-glycemic carbohydrates, 25% of the calories from protein, and 20% of the calories from fat." About the Company Nutrisystem went bankrupt in 1993 and totally revamped its structure and the nature of their weight loss program. Now, they offer free support to those who purchase their food and have special programs that are designed for women, men, and those with type 2 diabetes. Centers who charge extra for support may not fully appreciate how important counseling and mentorship is to a dieter. Their free support (which of course, they hope will encourage you to join) includes:
They incorporate (and encourage) eating a variety of fruits and vegetables. NutriSystem offers a return policy for unopened, pre-package foods, an auto-order system, and home delivery of meals. Some restrictions apply.
