Nevada Diabetes Association for Children and Adults - Diabetes Information Center is a non-profit organization in Reno that was founded to help people with diabetes in Nevada find local resources and information. Offers a variety of support and assistance programs including:
- Senior Community Service Employment - Places low-income seniors (over
age 55) with a community service agency where they receive on-the-job training
and temporary work.
- Senior Companion - Helps homebound adults remain independent and make
their lives less lonely by providing senior companions who assist them with
day-to-day chores.
- Senior Nutrition/Meals on Wheels - Serves seven free, nutritious
lunches weekly to more than 600 homebound seniors to enable them to live as
independently as possible for as long as possible.
- Social Services - Distributes basic necessities to prevent or end
homelessness, maintain adequate nourishment and health care, and obtain
employment resources.

Provides free or low-cost medical and dental care to uninsured and at-risk
teenagers who are ineligible or unable to obtain services through Clark County
agencies. Programs include:
- Huntridge Teen Clinic Dental Program - Provides
comprehensive dental care to teens.
- Huntridge Teen Medical Clinic - Provides medical services to
underinsured and at-risk youths, including treatment of acute illnesses, sports
physicals, immunizations, reproductive health care, as well as health care
counseling and education on choosing healthy lifestyles.

Provides a variety of assistance programs including:
- The Emergency Food and Services Program addresses the hunger, employment
and shelter needs of individuals and families in our community. Our Program
offers emergency food items, hygiene kits, clothing vouchers to meet human basic
needs. The Program also provides direct financial assistance for the following
services dependent on available funds: identification assistance, birth
certificate assistance, transportation, employment support (work cards), rental
assistance and utility assistance (Project Reach). All services are offered in
conjunction with comprehensive case management services. The Program also offers
a holiday gift/food program and other seasonal programs designed to meet the
needs of our community. The Emergency Services Division – open Monday-Friday from 8 am to 12pm and is

- The Making Access Possible (MAP) Program provides families with children
access and direct assistance in enrolling their children into the Nevada
Check-up Health Insurance Program. Referrals are made to low cost health care
providers in the community that help families with their health care related
needs. The program also provides quarterly health fairs. The health fairs help
families' access health care information and give them guidance with appropriate

- Supportive Housing Program - offers transitional housing for families for
up to 24 months. We provide intensive case management that helps families cover
all aspects of housing and long term financial stability through goal setting

Emergency Shelter and Meals - Administers basic needs and immediate
assistance to homeless individuals and families.

Family Services (Henderson) - Gives direct emergency assistance to
individuals and families, including clothing, utility assistance, food,
employment cards, transportation and medical prescriptions.
Friendship Circle (Henderson) - Cares for elderly and disabled adults
during the day in a warm loving and protective setting.
Lied Transitional Housing Complex - Offers transitional housing to
individuals and couples as they become economically self-sufficient.
Pahrump Family Services - Distributes food, clothing, shelter and
other basic needs to families and individuals in times of crisis.
Pathways - Financially assists clients lacking resources to meet
their needs for medical and preventative services, prescription medications,
physical exams and other health concerns.
United Way of Nothern Nevada and the Sierra - Through partners funds and lists many nonprofit assistance organizations for support, financial, and medical assistance. You can also contact them for referrals to resources that can help.
