Delaware - State Insurance and Assistance Programs for Persons with Diabetes
Hock's offers 30-50% discounted prices on diabetes supplies. We cannot specifically recommend or endorse any company but we have been listing Hock's in our resource directory for over a year as one of the two cheapest online companies to purchase from. We recently affiliated with Hock's because our own experience with them has been so positive. If you do place an order through our site, they will contribute financially towards our cause and you will get reasonable prices for diabetes supplies. Programs and Services - Information about the following programs and services is available here on the Division of Medicaid & Medical Assistance (DMMA) website. Please choose from one of the links below to find out more about eligibility and benefits.
Child Care Services - This service provides support for families with young children to enable the caretaker to hold a job, obtain training or meet special needs of the child. Child care may also be provided in child abuse cases to help protect the child. If you are working, you may have to pay a portion of your child care expenses. You may get a list of Child Care Centers and homes in your area from your DSS Case Manager. You will also be able to get more information on the program rules and fees. You may choose your child care provider from:
Delaware Healthy Children Program - The Delaware Healthy Children Program is a low cost health insurance program for Delaware's uninsured children. The Delaware Healthy Children Program features the same high-quality coverage you'd get with some of the best private insurance plans. Delaware Prescription Assistance Program - The goal of the program is to provide prescription assistance to elderly and/or disabled individuals currently without prescription coverage who have incomes below 200% of the poverty level or have prescription costs exceeding 40% of their income. This program covers medically necessary prescription drugs. The program does not pay for any of the drugs or diabetic supplies for Medicare recipients. Medicare currently covers these supplies for both insulin and non-insulin dependent patients. Clients must make a co-payment of $5 or 25% of the cost of the prescription, whichever is greater. The co-pay is collected by the dispensing pharmacy. Food Stamps Program - Food Stamps is a program that enables low-income families to buy a variety of food that is the basis for better nutrition. Benefits are issued electronically to the family's Delaware Food First card each month. This is an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card. The Food Stamp recipient uses this card at local grocery stores to access his/her food stamp benefit.
