Arizona - State Insurance and Prescription Programs for Persons with Diabetes

Arizona Department of Economic Security

Arizona Medicare covers the same supplies for both insulin and non-insulin dependent diabetics. Some frequency limitations may apply. Medicare does not cover insulin and syringes. Contact your Durable Medical Equipment Regional Carrier CIGNA 1-800-899-7095 for more information.  Supplies that are covered include:

  • Blood glucose testing meter and test strips
  • Lancets and (spring-powered) lancing devices
  • Glucose control solutions

The Arizona Cash Assistance Program - gives temporary cash and supportive services to children, individuals, and their familiies.  The Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) EDGE System is used to issue cash assistance payments. Participants are able to access their benefits from their assigned account by using a plastic debit card called QUEST . The debit card can be used at Automated Teller Machines (ATM) and Point of Sale (POS) devices located at most stores. Arizona Unemployment Insurance  - Unemployment insurance benefits provide temporary financial assistance to workers unemployed through no fault of their own that meet Arizona's eligibility requirements

Arizona Utility Assistance Program (LIHEAP)  - Utility assistance programs available from the Federal and state governments and from utility companies are coordinated to help low-income households meet their energy needs.

Arizona Weatherization Assistance Program  - The Weatherization Assistance Program was established to help low-income families and individuals decrease their home energy costs and to be attentive to energy-related health and safety issues in the home.
